Brera Football Club was founded in 2000 by the young publisher and journalist Alessandro Aleotti. The first manager appointed was former Inter and Sampdoria goalkeeper Walter Zenga. The team played its matches in the newly reopened Arena Civica, but was relegated from Serie D.
On February 15, 2023 the Company announced its first planned acquisition with the signing of a Letter of Intent to acquire the European first division football team Fudbalski Klub Akademija Pandev (“Akademija Pandev”) in North Macedonia, a country which has the right to participate in the three major UEFA competitions.
On March 20, 2023 the Company announced the establishment of a newly branded football club in Mozambique named Brera Tchumene, a team admitted to the Second Division Championship in Mozambique, an east African country of nearly 32 million people.
On July 5th, 2023 Brera announced the acquisition of a majority ownership stake in the Italian Serie A1 women’s professional volleyball team UYBA Volley S.s.d.a.r.l., based in Busto Arsizio, north of Milan (“UYBA” or “UYBA Volley”). The team currently plays in the Serie A1, Italy's highest professional league.
